Review:
Adrian Tchaikovsky's work is always impressive. The Final Architecture series in particular is a classic space opera that's simply impossible to put down. It's got everything you could possibly want: super speedy space travel, tons of different alien species, epic space battles, and an eclectic cast of characters that you can't help but love. The more I learn about the originators, unspace and the architects, the more I am captivated by their enigmatic story. And the chaotic planetary scale events that ensued are truly satisfying to witness. It's amazing to think about the incredible power and impact these entities had on the universe.
It's amazing how Tchaikovsky made the seemingly impossible task of saving the universe appear plausible even for ordinary people. It's truly a remarkable feat to accomplish. The way Tchaikovsky blends the themes of existential threat and human emotions is truly impressive. The space battles are intense and exciting, yet the genuine moments of humanity shine through. And the way he ties up the storylines is unexpected yet satisfying, emphasizing the importance of understanding and empathy in our relationships with each other and even with non-humans. Overall, it's a powerful story that reminds us of the bonds that connect us all.
I really enjoyed watching the finale of the journey. It was great to finally get some answers to all of the questions that we've been wondering about for so long. But what I appreciated, even more, was how it also addressed some of the unasked questions, like how the survivors might cope if things went well, and whether they could put aside their differences and work together. It was a really thought-provoking final, and I found myself thinking about it after I was done with it.
