Book Description: Talking about death and loss is hard for us because it's hard to find the right words to express our feelings. In this context, the thanatologist Gaby Pérez Islas offers us a tool that helps us face duels while sharing lessons to recover from the adversities that life presents us with.
Review:
This is a very short story so to start off I felt like we needed more. We follow a girl who is struggling with her family life and then of course she finds a boy. A lovely young man who sweeps her off her feet. But misfortune comes to knock on her door.
I don't want to go into the rest of the plot as its super short, its best for you to go into it with zero information, its very short so everything said is going to give too much.
A story that tells you everything that your soul knows but that your mind needs to receive through words. It's a good example of a book trying to give you a message of overcoming grief. You do not need to be in the same situation as the protagonist in order to get the message.
One of my favorite quotes:
"God is God and not an employee, he listens to us but does not obey us, because life has a plan that does not always coincide with our desires." Also, it does not really touch religion, which is a positive aspect.
The downside is that there is no translation yet, but the language is very straightforward, so for people who understand Spanish even at a middle level should be understandable.
