January Wrap up

Late better than never I guess.

I spent a lot of time reading but almost no time writing at all. 2023 started with a bang. I definitely started strong. But then as usual personal life gets in the way and I can't spend so much time on my leisure activities. But that will come later. Moving on to the wrap up:

The personal goals did not come out with flying colors though.

I am making great progress in the series department. I have started to continue series, but not complete as many. I will do a series update sometime in the near future at least that's the plan. The books with good different representation is coming along in a trickle, need to try harder I guess.

As for the criteria for authors, it did so-so. I managed to get a very close female-male ratio, its never perfect really.

I wanted to read at least one book in Spanish per week and a few different countries. The main country of origin was of course USA (17 of them) followed by UK, Japan, Ireland, Germany, Spain (2), China, and Mexico (only 1).

The vast majority of the authors are also from white descent (or white passing), so that also needs to be addressed when planning the upcoming TBRs.

I am trying to make the best of my book subscriptions. With that said most of me reading has been done digitally. Not too bad really. I do not have as many physical books here, most are a few hours away in nice boxes in my sister's house. I have come to the conclusion that I will not be bringing them over really. In my last few attempts, I packed a few of them in my luggage but really comfy to carry a huge suitcase through airports and taxis with a huge added weight due to books. I will try with my favorites but most will stay over there.

My initial idea was to not buy books, that failed miserably. I got 12 books. I still do not regret them.
