New year new start right? It gives me the perfect excuse at least.
My reading goal is 450 books. And because I'm very picky about list and having clear, quantifiable goals; lets break it up even more.
24 books to reread. I might make a list of the books I wish to try to reread.
Complete 12 Series. I am in the middle of a lot of series, over 60ish. I might need to make a list but I am not sure. It feels a lot like making fun of myself to actually put the all together. Huge list and that's only the ones I plan on actually completing, earlier on 2022 I did made a final decision of DNF-ing a few more (approx. 35). We'll see what happens later.
There are a few challenges I want to make for myself. Again another proof of my overly ambitious mind.
* A to Z Challenge Author and title. I will need to read a book for each letter of he alphabet - For authors its using their last name. For Titles is for the book title. It does not include series names, only book titles. Articles do not count (a, an, the)
* Around the world. So this one also is divided in two different challenges.
Read at least 1 book by an author from each country. I know it will not be possible to find one for each of them. I am doing other type of challenges. But I want to hit at least 85%.
The ideal balance I wish to reach is a 20%. So that means to get an even amount of books for each of the continents. For continents we will count Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
* Author Challenges. I am trying to read the backlog of authors following publication order when possible. The main idea is to read all their backlog. 2032 will be focusing on:
Agatha Christie, she's a classic murder mystery writer. I am about to complete her works she has been a constant companion for 2 -3 years by now. Glad to announce that I only have 3 more books to get to.
John Grisham - another mystery/thriller writer most of his work is legal thrillers with a few nonfiction works here and there. I have tried to start reading his books but now its the right time to take this more seriously.
Matt Haig- English author and journalist. His works are a bit more diverse includes fantasy, Sci-Fi and nonfiction; not only in genre but his target audience is also diverse including children books, YA and adult. He could possibly become a all time favorite.
Stephen King- another large list of works to get through, this is another challenge that has been on going for at least 2 years.
There a few more I will be participating but for now this are the ones set in stone. We might just more as the new year eve gets here.
Leave in the comments below what are some of your reading goal for 2023, its always fun to share and it might inspire us to try to accomplish them.
